Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor and admission to the New York State Bar are required.
- Minimum 12-15 years of experience in all phases of corporate law.
- Broad experience in dealing with all legal issues arising in a healthcare environment, with experience in Payor preferred.
- At least 10 years of managed care experience or equivalent.
- Previous experience in an in-house legal environment in a mid-sized organization preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication, negotiation, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Customer focused and “big picture” approach to legal issues.
- Excellent educational credentials.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with little to no supervision (other than strategic consultation), and to manage numerous and changing priorities with ease.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with and command respect of CEO, Boards of Directors, other senior managers and outside stakeholders.
- Demonstrates maturity and good judgment.
- Directs the registration, renewal and protection of trademarks.
- Oversee attorneys, paralegals and consultants responsible for developing legal tools and will provide direction to the teams to assist them in providing efficient and effective services.
