REMOTE Position
Summary of Position
- Maintain cash forecasting models to ensure optimal liquidity.
- Work with business areas across the enterprise to understand the impact of business activity on the cash flow forecast.
- Support the accounting close and financial reporting processes related to the investment portfolios and investment income.
Principal Accountabilities
- Prepare daily liquidity position and cash forecast across assigned legal entities.
- Perform regular variance analyses to proactively identify differences and improve the forecast.
- Maintain information flow with internal business contacts to keep the forecasts current.
- Support the forecasting and analysis of investment income.
- Prepare investment income journal entries and ensure timely delivery of transaction data from our investment accounting provider.
- Update quarterly and annual investment related notes to the financial statements.
- Prepare the OTTI analysis and Fair Value memo for investments.
- Ensure compliance with Model Audit Rule (MAR) controls and work with internal and external auditors as needed.
- Review SSAE 18 SOC 1 reports to ensure internal controls operate effectively.
Qualifications
Education, Training, Licenses, Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related required
Relevant Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 3 - 5+ years of relevant, professional work experience required
- Experience with Treasury and investments preferred
- Experience with Treasury software and systems preferred
- Health care industry, insurance company investment portfolio, and statutory accounting experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and perform research to identify, analyze, and recommend actionable solutions required
- Experience planning, organizing, prioritizing, problem solving, and multitasking on projects required
- Strong time management skills required
- Ability to collaborate and coordinate with other business areas required
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships required
- Proficiency with MS Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe required
