  • Oversee the development of a Supplier Diversity and Relationship Management Program: implement and manage a process for supplier performance management; leverage best practices and market intelligence to define relevant and effective performance measures.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and risk against set criteria including SLA’s and KPI’s; introduce and implement performance and risk management plans where necessary.  Manage supplier scope changes; evaluate and recommend appropriate methods to resolve disputes.
  • Identify opportunities with suppliers to gain a competitive advantage and deliver added value to both parties.
  • Implement and lead Emblem Health’s Supplier Development and Diversity program.
  • Set goals, monitor, and report on the organization’s supplier diversity spend.

Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Diversity Management: Assess diverse supplier spend and ensuring that targets and metrics are established, tracked, reported, and met; design and execute the enterprise supplier diversity strategy ensuring alignment with internal and external key stakeholders (including diverse suppliers) to execute the supplier diversity strategy.   
  • Function as the Emblem Health representative for all supplier diversity efforts (serve on boards & committees, participate in activities and events, etc.).  Partner with and develop relationships with third party organizations including the pursuing of and fostering new relationships with diverse vendors.
  • Performance & Risk Management: Evaluate supplier performance and risk against set criteria including SLA’s and KPI’s. Review supplier performance reports to identify and drive optimization opportunities; evaluate opportunities to incentivize contract delivery and continuous performance improvement; contribute to key negotiations with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers with use of value for money criteria such as pricing / costs, quality, timescales, quantities, innovation.
  • Oversee SMART targets to review supplier performance and processes in line with contractual SLAs / KPIs and to ensure quality measures are being met.
  • Review risk mitigation plans to drive supplier performance; recommend options with supplier disputes, escalation and problem resolution; provide oversight for SRM process and ensure efficient execution by Procurement Operations 
  • Strategic partnering: Identify opportunities with suppliers to gain a competitive advantage and deliver added value to both parties; build strong and sustainable partnerships with key suppliers of Emblem Health
  • Segmentation: Undertake supplier segmentation analysis based on risk and value; oversee supplier segmentation analysis across the organization based on risk and value, to drive supplier management plans for leadership & governance decisions; identify sources of competitive advantage and create plans with stakeholders across the organization to achieve enhanced added value with suppliers
  • Audit & Compliance: Perform supplier audits to actively review and measure supplier compliance; recommend appropriate remedies that can be taken with suppliers that may have committed breaches.  Review supplier audits and oversee appropriate supplier remediations, recovery plans and compliance implications.
  • Provide a holistic view on the performance of suppliers across specific business units, spend categories, and across EmblemHealth; provide recommendations for decision via Governance Committees regarding all extensions and terminations.
  • Project & Portfolio Management: Manage projects and a portfolio or activities to deliver strategic goals; identify benefits across the procurement function and within the Supplier Diversity & Relationship Management areas. 
  • Ensure benefits are being proactively reviewed, monitored, managed, realized and communicated; and value for savings are being delivered.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain or related field required
  • 5 - 8 years of relevant experience in positions of progressively increasing responsibility, ideally in healthcare or related industry required
  • Experience of procurement environment and managing suppliers, ideally in healthcare or related industry required
  • Ability to train and champion the supplier relationship and diversity programs to both internal and external partners required
  • Track record successfully working with internal and/or external stakeholders to manage the performance and benefits of supplier relationship management required
  • Experience with developing and implementing metrics and analytics required
  • Proven track record of developing, maintaining, and enhancing relationships in the supplier diversity community and involvement with national or local chapters of major diversity organizations (e.g. NMSDC, WBENC, etc.) preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal) required
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) required
  • Demonstrated track record of success leading major strategic sourcing and supplier management programs across a range of indirect/professional services categories required
