The Strategic Partnerships Specialist partners with the Strategic Planning Leader and engages senior-level executives, and other staff throughout the organization to provide contract-related issue resolution externally and internally. Manages less complex contracts including ensuring the accuracy and appropriateness of all contract-language changes, maintains payor profiles of contract terms and key quality metrics; and oversees the end to end review and resolution of all new contracts and contract amendments. Schedules, and develops presentation content for strategic partner meetings including data analyses and presents analyses developed. Tracks all contract-related correspondence and documentation with strategic partners, including health plan- and employer group-payors, practice infrastructure improvement partners and affiliated hospital and clinical academic partners to strengthen ACPNY’s market position. Works in collaboration with the Strategic Planning Leader and Chief Administrative Officer, providing support and analysis needed to develop and deploy new strategies that strengthen ACPNY’s market position, increase operating efficiencies and promote growth.

Responsibilities:

•    Coordinates, develops and presents content including data analyses (i.e. pivot table of enterprise quality performance, office-level patient population mix, payor opportunity for growth by office, etc.) in preparation for all external meetings with payor and practice infrastructure improvement partners to manage existing contracts and value-based programs, including Quality and Joint Operating Commission (JOC) meetings, and additional planning meetings focused on new contracts, negotiations, and medical office tours to cultivate strong relationships and initiate new business development opportunities. 

•    Manages less complex contracts including ensuring the accuracy and appropriateness of all contract-language changes, maintains payor profiles of contract terms and key quality metrics; and oversees the end to end review and resolution of all new contracts and contract amendments. 

•    Manages and oversees the end to end logistics of preceptorship program with affiliated hospital and clinical academic partners to pair clinical students with ACPNY providers; track and onboard all students in alignment with ACPNY’s compliance protocols; schedules and tracks student evaluations and preceptor incentive rollout; and partners with recruitment to share key data that will inform future hiring.

•    Coordinates and prepares content/data analyses to help guide internal Payor Strategy Planning Meeting led by Strategic Planning Leader and other key internal touchpoints, including executive finance, strategy, legal, revenue cycle and operational leadership, to manage current and new contracts, contract amendments and contract negotiations with key partners to inform and discuss growth opportunities for ongoing three-year planning efforts. 

•    Builds and maintains solid relationships with the payor community including initiating introductory and check-in meetings with executive leadership; and engaging in informal touchpoints with key external partner team members to maintain market influence, tracking and updating contact information of key stakeholders. 

•    Partners with compliance, legal and clinical leaders to track and maintain employee submissions of new research projects and manage the end to end internal approval process with our Research Oversight Committee

•    Performs other job-related duties as required.
 

Qualifications:

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field 
•    Minimum of 3 years of accomplished experience in a health plan or contract managing position in a provider setting 
•    Experience in managing contracts with payor partners in a disruptive business environment 
•    Possess organizational skills; must be detail-orientated and team-driven; as well as possess strong interpersonal skills 
•    Ability to organize planning meetings and effectively communicate with senior-level executives and other staff in the organization
•    Ability to develop and analyze data spreadsheets to summarize and target payor by payor growth opportunities 
•    The ability to effectively analyze contracts and summarize complex terms into a high-level summary to present to senior leadership 
•    Effective leadership and communication skills
