Reporting to the Director, Brand Strategy, the Senior Multicultural Marketing Specialist (Bilingual) will provide strategic support to Direct Marketing, Sales, Neighborhood Care and other areas in developing and executing marketing plans targeted to consumers who speak a language other than English. This position is hands-on and highly collaborative; responsibilities on a given day may include attending creative presentations led by EmblemHealth’s multicultural marketing agency, developing a local retail strategy for Neighborhood Care, attending multicultural focus groups with EmblemHealth’s Product team, coaching talent at an in-language radio record, and presenting campaign results to senior executives.  The Senior Multicultural Marketing Specialist is a champion of cultural competency and an advocate for transcreations over translations. The position will work with partners across the organization to establish best practices for marketing to non-English speaking consumers at every stage of EmblemHealth member and patient journey.


  • Manages end-to-end development of multi-cultural advertising across all channels—from direct mail to digital—as well as in-language collateral for partners such as brokers, sales agents, and providers.
  • Establishes and refines brand guidelines for marketing to non-English speaking consumers, including best practices, dos and don’ts, and consistent terminology. Works with Market Insights to develop consumer segments.
  • Manages detailed project plans and communicates marketing plans, campaign results and project recommendations to key stakeholders and senior executives. 
  • Manages transcreations of materials and develops in-language content, including advertising copy, scripts, email blasts and website content.
  • Coordinates review and approval of all materials by Legal, Compliance and other key stakeholders. Reviews materials for consistency and manages peer review of in-language materials as needed. Ensures all materials adhere to Speak Human, EmblemHealth’s plain language initiative, and EmblemHealth and AdvantageCare Physicians’ brand guidelines.
  • Monitors and tracks campaigns, optimizing results for maximum return-on-investment. Synthesizes results through a multicultural lens and presents to key stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Manages multicultural agency and translation vendor relationships, overseeing account management, briefs, requests for proposals and contracts.needs.

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing.
  • A minimum of four years’ experience in multicultural marketing Required.
  • Multicultural agency experience Preferred.
  • Fluent in English and alternate language, such as Spanish, (written and verbal). Required.
  • Demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo and serve as a champion of cultural competency. Required.
  • Deep understanding of multi-channel marketing, including brand, digital marketing and direct marketing. Required.
  • Strong team player, leader, self-starter and positive catalyst. Required.
  • Ability to run results-orientated campaigns simultaneously across multiple products. Required.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including some creative design. Required.
