EmblemHealth is excited to expand its Marketplace Sales team by bringing on a dynamic Regional Sales Trainer. We are looking for an innovative and creative individual to design in-class training programs for new hires and current sales employees to achieve sales and retention goals. The role will cover essential topics such as our products, best business practices, effective sales techniques, and compliance with government sales and marketing guidelines. 

As a key member in the team, this role will collaborate with the Regional Sales Leaders, Marketplace Sales Managers, and Regional Sales Coach to create impactful production reports and metrics, analyze performance data to proactively refine our training platforms/strategies accordingly. This role may require on-site field support across the New York Tristate area, including Long Island and/or Westchester County. 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and facilitate new hire, refresher, and broker trainings and evaluate the effectiveness of the trainings.
  • Develop and provide targeted training courses for specific business functionalities.
  • Create and enhance training materials to reflect best practices that support the overall current training requirements.
  •  Facilitate development and delivery of product/system/sale/service courses across all areas as business needs dictate.
  • Collaborate with managers and supervisors on the training needs of the staff and execute the necessary trainings.
  • Evaluate the training’s impact, results during training sessions, post training and report the findings.
  • Evaluate employees’ performance; determine areas in which the employees need additional coaching or training; develop individualize plans to enable the employees to meet expectations; report on the employees’ progress.
  • Partner with Marketplace Sale Leaders and Regional Sales Coach to support in mentoring staff regularly to assist the staff in accomplishing their sales and retention goals: conduct ‘side by sides’ with the staff in the field and office to demonstrate the ways to close sales or retain current members.
  • Leverage training content to support techniques on closing sales or retaining current members
  • Work closely with the managers and leadership to ensure alignment with objectives and goals; provide recommendations on different growth opportunities.
  • Analyze production reports weekly and adjust training and coaching techniques as needed; provide actionable recommendations to leadership. Develop ideas to enhance sales performance and present them to leadership.
  • Perform research to maintain awareness of best practices, and to locate articles, courses, etc. that provides materials into the development/refinement of coursework.
  • Maintain mastery level of understanding of all Emblem products, systems, and policies & procedures required for the professional sales and service areas.
  • Participate in activities that look at new processes, systems, etc., to support corporate initiatives with an eye towards identifying opportunities to improve sale processes and results for the enterprise.

Qualifications

  • 4 – 6+ years’ experience in training and coaching techniques required
  • Additional experience or specialized training may be considered in lieu of educational requirements required
  • 3 – 5+ years of experience in health insurance, preferably in the NY State health insurance environment required
  • Experience in staff/process management preferred
  • Prior sales experience required
  • Strong government product knowledge and experience required
  • Must have hands-on training experience in a classroom or large audience setting required
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal, negotiations) with all audiences required

This compensation range is specific and considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, internal peer equity, and market and business considerations. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the work is being performed. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, as compensation decisions depend on each case’s facts and circumstances. Union roles covered by a collective bargaining agreement will compensate in accordance with the union contract.
