Summary of Position
- Responsible for implementing the Community Engagement department’s strategic plan.
- Identify as and represent EmblemHealth and its New York-based companies and brands as a socially responsible health
partner in the diverse communities we serve. - Provide key support and on-the-ground insights, and support in line with business strategy and goals - with a clear focus on
strategic partnerships for event executions and brand positioning – coordinating with internal teams as needed to meet
growth and retention goals.
Principal Accountabilities
- Primary responsibility for connecting EmblemHealth with communities working through community partners to
develop events and/or opportunities to promote growth. - Serve as a primary point of contact for EmblemHealth in the community and execute events.
- Generate event related list and data management as well as other administrative tasks such as, but not limited to,
requesting and submitting sponsorship proposals for approval and invoices and managing premium, (giveaways)
inventory. - Interact professionally with community partners representing the brand and the business’ interests.
- Maintain communication with clinical partners, hospitals and FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Center) and providers
that support community engagement strategy and efforts. - Ability to identify, assess, and develop community assets for collaboration.
- Guide partners in creating optimal opportunities for the company.
- Prepare weekly and monthly event calendars, reports on health initiatives and outcomes, order supplies for events
and submit request for sponsorship from community groups. - Prepare weekly calendar of appointments and opportunities.
- Report progress on initiatives through data dashboards and presentations.
- Partner with internal teams to execute the Enterprise mission in communities.
- Coordinate with Sales teams to ensure events are maximized for growth and retention goals.
- Coordinate with the Care Management to execute programs directly impacting members’ health.
- With support from leaders, will identify opportunities through community partnerships to support enterprise health
measures, and build a network of community leaders and organizations to create avenues for EmblemHealth’s health
disparity expansion, activating partnership programming in the field for communities at large.
Qualifications
Education, Training, Licenses, Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations/Communications, or related field
Relevant Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 2 – 3+ years’ relevant, professional work experience.
- Working knowledge of / experience with the New York metro area and its diverse communities.
- Community building/event programming/marketing/sales experience.
- Additional experience/specialized training may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal) with all types/levels of audiences.
- Knowledge of New York’s health insurance marketplace, products and industry.
- Basic knowledge of community relations programming, creating and managing programs with measurable outcomes.
- Ability to build and strengthen community relationships in multiple geographies within the New York metro area.
- Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines, responses must be prompt and clear.
- Community engagement experience within diverse geographies.
- Excellent team collaborator, ability to build coalitions internally and externally.
- Since this is a field-based position, must be willing and able to travel throughout the five (5) boroughs, Westchester, and/or
Long Island. - Willingness and ability to work off-hours, weekends, holidays, etc., as needed to perform duties.
- Approximately 70% of work time will be spent in the field; regular weekend activities are expected.
