Qualifications 

Education, Training, Licenses, Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations/Communications, or related field 


Relevant Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • 2 – 3+ years’ relevant, professional work experience. 
  • Working knowledge of / experience with the New York metro area and its diverse communities. 
  • Community building/event programming/marketing/sales experience. 
  • Additional experience/specialized training may be considered in lieu of degree requirement. 
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal) with all types/levels of audiences. 
  • Knowledge of New York’s health insurance marketplace, products and industry. 
  • Basic knowledge of community relations programming, creating and managing programs with measurable outcomes. 
  • Ability to build and strengthen community relationships in multiple geographies within the New York metro area. 
  • Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines, responses must be prompt and clear. 
  • Community engagement experience within diverse geographies. 
  • Excellent team collaborator, ability to build coalitions internally and externally. 
  • Since this is a field-based position, must be willing and able to travel throughout the five (5) boroughs, Westchester, and/or
    Long Island. 
  • Willingness and ability to work off-hours, weekends, holidays, etc., as needed to perform duties. 
  • Approximately 70% of work time will be spent in the field; regular weekend activities are expected.
