Summary of Position
- Lead and direct assigned region on product distribution to grow the current block of business.
- Oversee and monitor the direction of the sales activities of the Direct to Consumer and Individual markets (Medicaid, Child
Health Plus, The Essential Plan and QHP); develop a strategy to increase sales. - Work closely with the Sales Managers, AVP, Government Assisted Program (GAP), Enrollment and Customer Service to ensure
high levels of service and responsiveness. - Work with AVP on the overall direction of the Individual sales training programs.
- Manage the team to ensure the sales goals are achieved..
Principal Accountabilities
- Provide leadership and direction to the assigned region on various channels of product distribution to grow the
current block of business. - Monitor the sales performance of the Individual products and determine when changes in performance call for a
significant shift in strategy versus a minor tactical adjustment; develop a plan to execute the changes. - Manage the daily, weekly and monthly production report and make sure that each rep reaches their monthly new and
renewal goals by matching it with the completed and effectuated 834 State file. - Monitor the regulatory environment and its impact on the Individual products; develop appropriate marketing
strategies to ensure regulatory compliance. - Collaborate with AVP in the development of strategies that will enhance our enrollment opportunities with
Community Based Organizations. - Coordinate efforts and work collaboratively with all applicable departments that support the product to achieve high
levels of customer satisfaction and member retention. - Responsible for ensuring team achieves all sales and retention goals.
- Oversee the direction of hiring, trainings, and supervising of the Individual Sales staff.
- Manage, motivate, discipline and provide the overall direction to the Sales staff.
- Assist the AVP in overseeing the development and management of Individual sales training programs.
- Regular attendance is an essential function of the job.

Qualifications
Education, Training, Licenses, Certifications
- BA/BS required
Relevant Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 10 – 12+ years of relevant, professional work experience.
- Experience in managing direct-to-consumer sales activities for a major health insurance carrier.
- Additional experience/specialized training/certifications may be considered in lieu of the educational requirements.
- Demonstrated success in leading an effective, competitive sales management function in a direct sales environment, with a
track record of achieving profitable growth. - Bilingual skills (verbal and written).
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other Internet and web-based tools.
- Demonstrated analytical and collaborative problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal); ability to build rapport and relationships.
