Provides general support to the OEHC staff.  Manages reception area including screening phone calls, scheduling appointments, taking messages, and forwarding calls to appropriate parties.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Answers routine questions from patients, examinees and clients concerning clinical services offered and as related to scheduling of various types of occupational health and preventive medicine services.
  • Appropriately uses electronic medical record system to manage scheduling of appointments for clinical staff.
  • Coordinates regularly with other administrative staff and office manager to ensure seamless operation of clinic activities.
  • Greets clients, patients and examinees for appointments and ensures completion of the check-out process once appointment is completed.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of the job.  Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associate’s Degree Preferred
  • Minimum two years’ experience in similar position (medical receptionist or medical office staff) required
  • Minimum typing speed 65wpm required
  • Proficiency in MS Office required
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems or willingness to learn required
  • Excellent oral communication skills with ability to handle telephone communication in a professional manner, and distribute messages in a timely manner required
  • Attention to detail as it relates to scheduling required
  • Good organizational skills with ability to prioritize client, examinee and patients’ needs over own workload required
  • Integrity in handling confidential documents required
  • Must be able to interact with all levels of staff required
  • Flexibility to work on multiple projects/assignments simultaneously, with the ability to focus in a crisis required
