Financial Analyst
Summary:
- Perform analysis to determine the efficacy of business dollars spent in terms of results, ROI, alternatives, etc.
- Monitor and reconcile budgets for multiple divisions within the organization to ensure they meet their budget targets.
- Run multiple ad-hoc “what-if” scenarios and identify and promote opportunities to save on spend across the organization.
- Meet with various levels of divisional management to review, identify and create action plans when needed to address areas that are not within their targeted spend.
- Assist assigned divisions in completion of their annual budget, quarterly forecasts and monthly variance reports.
Responsibilities:
- Execute annual planning process, quarterly forecasts and monthly results analysis.
- Monitor, analyze, and reconcile financial data for specific divisions within the organization.
- Responsible for encouraging leaner and more efficient processes for these divisions.
- Develop and present ad-hoc analysis that demonstrate and assist the organization in cutting costs where practical.
- Adapt to changing business needs; understand the sensitivity of such analysis which ultimately drives business change.
- Analyze and make recommendations to third party contracts that oversee Operational areas, as well as more focused for the organization.
- Make recommendations on how the organization can leverage contracts best to our advantage.
- Analyze contractual spend and make recommendations on whether services could be provided cheaper through another vendor, or potentially by bringing in house.
- Create complex financials models to support divisional and enterprise initiatives by leveraging our technology.
- Utilize enterprise technology systems to perform analysis, comparisons, costing scenarios, reports, etc.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or other related quantitative field of study required; Master’s degree preferred
- 2 – 3+ years’ experience in Corporate Finance, Accounting or other related financial function required
- Strong understanding of business operations, business targets and strategic objectives required
- Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously with competing priorities/deadlines; and to drive results in a focused and efficient manner required
- Understanding of financial metrics; ability to identify and calculate ROI on business expenditures required
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal) with all types/levels of audience; ability to interact effectively with department staff and leadership required
- Ability to effectively communicate analysis results and recommendations to support business decision making required
- Demonstrated track record of accepting challenges and successful development of solutions required
- Highly proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.) required
- Proficient with financial applications/software/systems and other technology tools required
