Assist the Chief Risk Officer in the leadership, innovation, governance, and management necessary to identify, assess, mitigate, monitor and report the company's operational and strategic risks as part of a leading Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program.  Develop Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) tools, practices, and policies to analyze and report enterprise risks, and to manage risks according to an enterprise risk management framework.  Establish the Enterprise Risk Management architecture for the company.  Assist in other initiatives and projects as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive implementation and management of EmblemHealth’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program; ensure that EmblemHealth’s risk management policies and strategies are in compliance with applicable regulations, rating agency standards, and corporate strategic imperatives.
  • Assist Chief Risk Officer in managing risks and mitigation plans of the ERM program including identification of emerging risks through reporting and collaboration with business leaders. 
  • Monitor, analyze and prepare reporting of risks within the company's business units. 
  • Assist Chief Risk Officer in the timely monitoring and reporting of managing risks and mitigation plans using risk tolerances, risk limits and key risk indicators. 
  • Assist in the risk appetite statement, risk identification and risk assessment activities. 
  • Develop and implement solutions and procedures to ensure that EmblemHealth is prepared to deal with the potential risks.
  • Provide key inputs and preparation of materials for committee meetings including ERM Workgroup and ERM Executive Committee meetings and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.    
  • Partner in the development of financial models for ERM reporting. 
  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory reports – Own Risk Solvency and Assessment Report (ORSA) and Enterprise Risk Management Report. 
  • Create organizational scorecards, as well as develop and implement other reporting methodologies to meet the needs of senior executives, board members, and other stakeholders in the ERM process. 
  • Administer ERM system, Riskonnect, and provide support to system users while validating and monitoring content within the system.
  • Assist in other initiatives and projects as needed. 
  • Maintain industry level knowledge by performing research into best practices and emerging issues/developments.
Qualifications:
  • BS in business administration or related required; MBA preferred
  • Certificate in Risk Management or other related programs preferred
  • Credentials such as ARM, FRM, or CPA preferred
  • 8 – 12 years of related work experience in positions of increasing responsibility required
  • Strong analytical skills and desire to seek out information required
  • Self-starter with ability to work with multiple levels of management and handle multiple tasks successfully required
  • Proven track record of collaboration and coordination across an entire enterprise or large division required
  • Effective communications skills (verbal and written) with all types and levels of audiences required
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (word processing, spreadsheet/database, presentation) required
  • Energetic and enthusiastic with a positive attitude required
  • Knowledge of healthcare operational processes and products preferred
  • Certificate in Risk Management or other related programs preferred
