The Director of Sales will be responsible for managing and leading a team of sales representative in the market. Accountable for generating new membership (gross adds) consistent with the budget.

  • Manage the day to day activity of a large groups (100+) market sales team.

  • Ensures the sales team has and executes sales plans, business plans, strategies and action plans for identified targets of opportunity with clearly defined schedules, action assignments, objectives and strategies for attaining those goals.

  • Develops and shares deep broker and GA relationships to drive growth for EmblemHealth.

  • Develop and executes an annual sales plan, and monitors results based on monthly performance.

  • Provide market leadership with assistance, reports and other items as requested, and functions as a member of the market leadership team.

  • Manage CRM tool (Salesforce) in accordance with departmental policies and metrics.

  • Implement business management process including but limited to weekly 1/1 with direct reports to facilitate and monitor performance, weekly team meetings, prospect management meetings and functional areas meeting.

  • Recruit, hire and assist with the training of sales personnel.

  • Responsible for coaching and development of sales personnel.

  • Ability to work a variety of hours, early morning, evenings and weekends, as required by various sales activities.

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Minimum of 10+ years professional experience (R)

  • Minimum of 5 years in management supervisory role (R)

  • Knowledge of group benefit designs, health care delivery systems, underwriting/funding methodologies (R)

  • Intermediate user level in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel  (R)

  • Lead management software knowledge and preview experience  (R)

  • Exemplary oral and written communication skills (R)
