Performs preventive, diagnostic and restorative treatment which is within the normal scope of a general dentist. Assumes the role of the “on-call” dentist, for after-hours emergencies (in a rotational schedule with the other general dentists)

 

Responsibilities:

  • Direct patient care

  • Directs the training of chair side dental assistants

  • Complies with the policies and procedures of GHI Family Dental Practice and Group Health Incorporated

  • Participates in NYSDOH mandated QA/Safety/Infection Control and other committees

  • Insures that patients’ charts are always legible and complete

  • Performs other related duties which may be assigned by practice management from time to time

Qualifications:

  • Dentistry degree

  • Must be a New York State licensed dentist, currently registered with the State Education Department

  • Must be a member in good standing of the American Dental Association; Dental Society of the State of New York; and the Third District Dental Society

  • Must be currently registered with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA). General practice residency and a minimum of two years of either military or private practice

  • Meets budgeted targets for clinical productivity required

  • Meets documentation standards as measured by QA reviews required

  • Maintains licensure required
