Description of Duties:
  • Greets patients and visitors and directs them to appropriate locations.
  • Assists patients in the completion of all required paperwork relating to profiling data, insurance information and financial arrangements.
  • Maintains and updates patients’ files.
  • Answers the telephone and directs callers to appropriate parties.
  • Schedules patients’ appointments.
  • Coordinates all point of service billing activities, such as collection of fees, generation of invoices, posting of transactions to billing system and the scheduling of follow-up visits.
  • Pulls and re-files patients’ charts, in accordance with the daily schedules of the dental professionals.
  • Provides backup assistance to the billing department by performing duties such as the posting of receivables, following up on outstanding account balances, and coordinating the mailing of invoices.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned by practice management, from time to time.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced multi-task environment
  • Excellent customer service skills (in-person and on phone)
  • Ability to work effectively with computerized management software
  • At least one-year of experience in a comparable position is preferred
